Napa County Schools reopening on 10/26
Posted 9/23/20

Today, Napa County Office of Education announced that four Napa County school districts, including NVUSD, will open for hybrid in-person instruction on Monday, October 26. As we have communicated previously, the full distance learning option is still available to all families. This collaborative decision came after careful considerations of the public health guidelines, prioritizing student and staff health and safety above all else.

Our team has worked tirelessly to prepare for limited students to return to campuses safely in predetermined cohorts. All our principals are finalizing operational, safety, and sanitation plans at the school site level. We have built support systems at the district level to prepare and respond quickly to our sites' concerns and requests.

We know many families have questions about reopening, and we are hosting a Reopening Community Town Hall on Tuesday, September 29, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm via Zoom. See the link here: https://zoom.us/j/95286958660. Due to capacity limits, only the first 5,000 participants will be let into the meeting. For those who cannot join or access the meeting, we will record the town hall and distribute the recorded video link. Also, we post regular updates to our Phase Two FAQ page as information becomes available.

As your superintendent, during this uncertain time, I will continue to uphold our mission — “transforming lives by instilling and inspiring lifelong learning in every student.” This commitment does not waver or change, whether we are learning in-person or via our distance learning program.

Thank you for your commitment and support as we move into Phase Two of our plan.
