NVUSD Shows Modest Improvements on Statewide Assessment Test; Individual Student Results Mailed Home
Posted 10/25/19

This year’s California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress Report (CAASPP) showed NVUSD students slightly improving in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. Positive progress trends are most evident in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th in both subject areas and more modest progress at the secondary level, grades 6th, 8th and 11th.

Overall, 47.9% of students met or exceeded state standards in ELA and 34.8% met or exceeded standards in Math. The subgroup with the most opportunity for improvement is English Learners, scoring 50 percentage points or more lower than students overall.

Compared with the state, NVUSD has a higher percentage of students meeting state standards and a slightly lower percentage exceeding standards.

“At NVUSD we have high expectations for teaching and learning and we want all of our students to continue to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Our goal is to continue to invest in programs in every school and classroom to help all students excel and become lifelong learners understanding that effective program improvements should render improved progress on state accountability measures,” said Dr. Rosanna Mucetti, NVUSD Superintendent.

Detailed District CAASPP results can be found on the CAASPP website. Individual students results will be mailed home during the next two weeks. CAASPP results for middle and high school students are viewable in the Aeries Parent Portal.
