School Parking

Our parking is very limited!

We have pull-through student drop-off and pick-up locations.  Please help keep these areas moving and clear.

If possible, we  encourage you to walk to school with your child.

Exercise before  school helps children be more alert and ready to learn. Give yourself plenty of time to get to school.  Our school gates open at 7:55am.

Please read the Parking Lot Safety Tips and help us create a safe environment for our staff, families, and students.

Nestled in the foothills of the city of American Canyon, Canyon Oaks Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade five. Canyon Oaks opened in the Fall of 2005. Home to the Mighty Oaks, CanyonOaks Elementary School serves a diverse community of learners. The school's focus is on a whole-child approach to teaching and learning in order to promote a caring and inclusive community; we promote the social-emotional, academic, behavioral, and physical success for ALL.  Students at Canyon Oaks receive excellent academic instruction supported by collaborative grade-level teams, research-based instructional programs, and highly effective student engagement strategies. Additionally, students are supported by the school-wide Positive Behavior Support programs/BEST Expectations, Toolbox SEL, Second Step, and Restorative Practices.

Staff, students, and parents work together to create a sense of community through special events and programs. Canyon Oaks Parent Teacher Organization hosts an annual Harvest Festival in October and Spring Arts Festival in May. These events are designed to
bring our school community together and celebrate the work and talents of children.  Monthly BEST assemblies highlight
our school focus to Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be your BEST, including the recognition of student leaders
from each class and monthly character traits. Students teach each other about what it means to be a “Mighty Oak”.

Canyon Oaks students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to help them develop a lifetime love of learning.

All students will master grade level standards in a learning environment that supports inquiry and collaboration for students and teachers as they make meaning of knowledge.
